LinkedIn cracks down on AI slop, Apple warns investors about rising costs of components due to AI and data centre builds

LinkedIn admits it has an 'AI slop' problem  

LinkedIn has become infamous for cringey content, but with the rise of AI, the posts are getting out of control. And LinkedIn knows it's a problem.  

It's so bad that LinkedIn now has a button to report a post for seeming like AI slop. Yes, that is the real label. They say people come to LinkedIn to connect with real people, who share their real perspectives, ideas, and expertise. That does not mean they want to see something they could ask AI themselves! In an amusing case of irony, LinkedIn has pulled down its own "Enhance your post with AI" feature.  

Prepare for your tech gadgets to get more expensive  

There is a global shortage of computer memory and storage with the boom of AI and data centre builds, and it's now so bad that Apple is warning its investors. In its call this week they said they're seeing continued demand for their latest generation of devices but also challenges securing memory, saying there is "less flexibility".  

Apple now has $11 billion dollars in inventory, almost double from September last year, suggesting they're stockpiling the components needed for their most popular devices. It's likely your tech gadgets will become more expensive as the cost of these critical components continue to be in hot demand.
